Want a glowing complexion, taut skin, less cellulite? How about improved blood circulation and enhanced lymphatic function and drainage? sounds amazing right? it is! this is where I introduce you to the art of hydrotherapy. Hydrotherapy is used across the world in old and new health and wellness practices. And is a beautiful therapy. As the body is 70% water using this luminous element to stimulate and nourish our bodies, becomes a deeply rejuvenating and healing experience.
Hydrotherapy uses water at cold and hot temperatures to manipulate blood flow and lymphatic function of the body. Cold water essentially forces the body to pull blood towards the core protecting the organs, the rush of more blood, results in the organs receiving more oxygen and being rejuvenated. When we douse the body with warm water blood returns to the extremities. This action begins to create an inner pump like movement of blood and lymphatic motion. the inner circulation improves blood flow and lymphatic drainage which helps eliminate toxins from the body. Detoxification helps to strengthen the bodies immune system, which is the bodies main defense against viruses, bacteria and infection.
Getting down to business. All you need is a few extra minutes at the end of your shower. While you shower in warm/ hot water relax, take a few deep belly breaths and with each exhale let tension and stress go, do this for 1-2 minutes. Now, adjust the temperature to a much cooler setting, go as cold as you can tolerate (your tolerance will increase over time) stand so the water is showering your chest, and BREATH turn around so it is showering over your upper back, BREATH. Be sure to get your whole body under the shower and hold for 30 second. Then switch the dial back to warm/hot, relax, breath and enjoy for 1-2 minutes. Switch back to cool/cold. Repeat this sequence one more time (3 cycles in total) finishing up with cold water. Pat your body dry and love yourself up with a delicious moisturizer, coconut oil is a personal favorite. You will feel rejuvenated and energized!
To Delicious health.
